VOIP Engineer II
The VoIP Engineer II is a position of considerable relevant technical knowledge. This position is responsible for performing VoIP provisioning, configuration and Tier III technical support.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: testing, installation, implementation and maintenance of Voice over IP architecture and configurations. The end-to-end configuration/implementation of the VoIP Services from call processing perspective, including verification that individual VoIP components are operating in accordance with their respective production specification, as well as testing of the VoIP system for operational readiness.
Minimum Requirements are:
- Associates degree in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering – required, Working knowledge of Linux Operating system – intermediate required, 2 Years Advance knowledge of technical IP networking and architectures – required, Advanced Bash-Scripting/Shelling programming – preferred
- Knowledge of cable and IP-Telephony protocols (SIP, MGCP, Packet Cable, H.323, H.248, RTP/RTCP, IP Routing, Security and Qos) – required, 2 years technical experience with enterprise IP telephony, PBX, Voice/unified Messaging and telecom switching – required , 2 years experience with DOCSIS-base VoIP implementations – preferred, Certifications: CCNA, CCNP or CCVP or the equivalent in relevant practical work experience – required

VOIP Engineer
The VoIP Engineer, an entry level position applying commonly-used engineering concepts, principles and techniques and working under direct supervision, performs VoIP provisioning, configuration and assisting Tier II technical support.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: testing, installation, implementation and maintenance of Voice over IP architecture and configurations Analyze problem reports, replicate customer environment and reproduce customer problems in our lab environment; Track and update trouble tickets through problem resolution, and provide summary reports to Tier II Provide ongoing support and maintenance of VoIP (Switch) Architecture and Platforms, utilizing VoIP protocols and standards including SIP, MGCP, and H.323, H.248, RTP/RTCP, IP Routing, Security and Qos (DiffServe).
Minimum Requirements are:
- Associates in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering – required, Working knowledge of Linux Operating system – preferred, Working knowledge of technical IP networking and architectures – entry level desired
- Knowledge of cable and IP-Telephony protocols (SIP, MGCP, Packet Cable, H.323, H.248, RTP/RTCP, IP Routing, Security and QoS) – entry level desired
